About the room

The Butterfly room cares for children aged 18 months – 2.5 years. The room is a large, open, light space which is warm and homely, offering a home from home ethos. Children can directly access the outdoor play area throughout the day to play with the outdoor toys, climb, roll and run around, and explore.

The Butterfly room follows a daily routine to allow the children to experience a wide range of play and learning experiences, as well as the Curiosity Approach™.

What else should you know?

The ratio is 1 adult to 4 children. Each childcare practitioner is qualified to a minimum of Level 3, many of our staff are qualified at Level 5. We build positive partnerships with parents, giving support and advice on your child’s growth and development, communicating with parents throughout the day via the Seesaw App. The team is led by a Senior Nursery Nurse.

The children in the Butterfly room are encouraged to communicate, play together and to find their voices together. We have a wide range of toys and our activities are varied. They include glueing, painting, sand play and baking. We encourage the children to explore and experiment through creative play and outdoor activities, to grow and develop.
