The Caterpillar room cares for babies aged 0-12 months. The room is a large open space which is warm and homely, offering a home from home ethos in a relaxed, calm atmosphere.
The Caterpillar room shares a kitchen with the adjacent Ladybird room, for babies aged 12 – 18 months, for bottle preparation, sterilising, preparing breakfast and snacks and also serving lunch. The room has access to its own outdoor play area which enables the babies to go outdoors throughout the day.
The ratio is 1 adult to 3 babies. Each childcare practitioner is qualified to a minimum of Level 3, many of our staff are qualified at Level 5. They are able to give support and advice, communicating with parents throughout the day via the Seesaw App. We are also a breastfeeding friendly nursery. The team is led by a Senior Nursery Nurse.
The nursery day allows the individual routine of the baby to be followed; babies are able to sleep when needed to ensure the children get the quality of rest needed to grow and develop. Both baby rooms work closely together which provides a safe and secure atmosphere for babies and their parents/carers.
